My Favorite Things - Shop Local Edition
Holiday shopping is in full swing for my household and this year, I’m ditching the big box stores and shopping local. I love supporting local makers, not only is it good for the economy ($68 of every $100 spent shopping local stays right here in the community) but it also has a personalized touch that you can’t get at chain stores. Here are a few of my favorite local Winnipeg businesses where I’ll be picking up some Christmas gifts this season, Piazza De Nardi: You really can’t go wrong with giving the gift of food and my favourite place for that is Piazza De Nardi. They have an amazing selection of gift baskets and a wide assortment of delicious wines from around the world. Piazza De Nardi is currently open for pickup and delivery. Academy Florist: I’m a sucker for beautiful flowers. There are so many amazing flower shops in Winnipeg (shoutout Freshcut Downtown, Norwood Florist and Floral Fixx) but my absolute favorite is Academy Florist. Their flowers are breathtakingly beautiful and are sure to brighten your home or delight anyone you gift them to. Their Bouquet of the Day is a smaller arrangement and at just $25 they make a great gift idea for a host or a co-worker. Mad About Style Boutique: Mad About Style is one of my favorite clothing boutiques in Winnipeg. Although Christmas parties won’t be a thing this year, it still feels good to dress up every once in a while, and for that, Mad About Style has your back! They carry the latest trends for all shapes and sizes. Mona Lisa Restaurant: One of my very favourite restaurants in Winnipeg is Mona Lisa, they do Italian food right. I always love to pop in there throughout the holiday season and this year they’re offering delivery and pickup so I can still enjoy their delicious food in the comfort of your own home. These are just a few of my favourite local spots, what are some of yours? Sabrina
